2024 Updates & Goals for 2025
It feels like only yesterday I was setting my goals, and now here we are, wrapping up 2024! Phew, can you beleive how fast time has flown by?
As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect moment to pause, reflect on the progress I’ve made, but it’s not just about looking back — this is also the time to set my sights on 2025 and all the exciting possibilities it holds. 🥂
🏃🏼♂️ Physical Health 🏊🏼♂️
Unlike 2023, when walking to work was part of my daily routine, I did not walk as much in comparison. In compensation, I made an effort to stay active by walking in the weekends, followed by working out at home (also learnt to skip rope!)
Finally, I took things up a notch by hitting the gym, lifting weights, and finally incorporated running into my routine – and I plan to continue building onto these habits in the coming year ++ adding a new sport to my routine.
🥬 Diet 🥬
This year, my diet underwent a massive transformation. Over the past few months, I’ve become highly mindful of what I put in my mouth — some might even call it an obsession. While I’ve always leaned toward healthy eating, I didn’t shy away from having junk food.
This year marked a steady decline in my junk food consumption, paving the way for a more balanced lifestyle. I have been focusing on eating clean and I have managed to be disciplined and consistent so far. (Proud? Maybe)
Learning & Self-Improvement 🧠
– Reading
I cannot figure why I do not get the time to read. There’s a stack of books waiting for me, yet I often find myself watching movies, or youtube instead. Classic, right?
I wish the “read 10-20 pages a day” trick like all these influencers suggest worked for me, but I don’t know, the joy of immersing myself in an entire book all at once feels like a completely different experience.
Here’s hoping the new year brings with it the opportunity (and discipline) for me to get into some truly good reads.
– Programming & Tech
-
Python is my official language of choice. Will it change anytime soon? HELL NO!
-
With that aside, I do need to improve my JS & React skills, ‘cause Rust seems to be a tough nut for me.
-
Self-hosting some projects is still on the to-do list, but the maintenance aspect keeps pushing it further down.
-
I got my hands dirty with tools like Docker, Jenkins, and other DevOps essentials, broadening my technical toolkit.
So much to learn, yet so little time. (what the hell, right?)
– Other Stuff
-
Learning to trade.
-
Contributed to a few open-source projects & more to come.
